Our neighborhood may not be as fancy as these tourist spots, but it’s definitely worth looking around when you have time!

SHOIN JINJA (SHOIN SHRINE)

 

This shrine enshrines Yoshida Shoin who is known as an educator lived in the end of Edo Period. People who have wishes related to study or exam come over to pray at the shrine still now. The atmosphere is so peaceful and you can walk around inside even in an early morning!

ASAHIYA PARLOR

Asahiya parlor opens at 7:30 to serve you a good breakfast. When you have a jet lag and wake up too early, this is the right place to come! I also love their parfait that is made by seasonal fruits.

Shkudo Meguru just opened recently but is already popular.

SHOIN PLAT

 

SHOIN PLAT has just opened last year, it’s a complex consisting of 9 different shops such as bakery and craft beer, florist’s, gallery, cafe etc. Definitely fun to hang out! You can also rent a bicycle for 3 hrs / 1500 JPY.

MERCI BAKE

 

Every time I visit this cute pastry shop, they have different cakes. So you’ll never know what they are serving today!  Their sweets are so popular and on weekends there is a waiting line, so you must go as early as possible if you want to get something!

MATSUZAKI SENBEI

 

Matsuzaki Senbei is known as a maker of historical japanese cracker, their main store has been located in Ginza for over 150 years and luckily they’ve chosen this neighborhood for their new shop! The senbei is perfect for souvenirs and they also have japanese-styled lunch and sweets for you to enjoy.
